An open letter ◌
Welcome.
You may have noticed a couple of minor visual and name changes today. This latest change has come about from lots and lots of reflecting on questions like:
what drives me?
what could I do day after day after day and never tire of?
what am I uniquely positioned to be able to help others with?
how can I combine my skills and knowledge in a way that has an impact in other people’s lives?
Because, to me, online business allows us the gift of following our natural curiosities and what we were put on this planet to do. It allows us to serve others in positive ways all whilst making a living doing what lights us up. It’s truly a privilege to be on this path.
One question that never leaves my mind is always some variation of ‘how can we balance living for today with remembering tomorrow?’. What I mean by this is, if we live solely for today we can easily fall into a cycle of hedonistic pursuits. And whilst that may feel great today, it doesn’t necessarily lead us to a life worth remembering when tomorrow comes around.
I spend much of my time exploring the ways in which I can design a life my future self will thank me for. The areas I focus on primarily fall into three distinct categories:
living in alignment with my values
building a business that supports my life
managing my use of technology so that I retain freedom to spend my time meaningfully rather than scrolling my life away
However, in pursuit of solutions, I frequently encounter people struggling with these areas.
I see this as a crisis of meaning and connection.
We are bombarded daily with distractions that are hard to ignore because they’ve been intentionally designed to be as compelling as possible. And whilst we’re more connected than ever before, we’re more disconnected from ourselves than ever before. This means we’re highly susceptible to following what I consider to be the ‘default path’ — the path that we follow with our eyes closed.
I believe the antidote to this crisis of meaning and connection is to follow what I call the ‘deliberate path’ — the path that we follow with our eyes open. It’s the path that we actively show up to and choose, day in and day out, even when it gets hard. It asks us to dig deep within our well of resilience to stand by what we believe to be right.
And the deeper into our AI future we go, the more we’re going to crave the thing that truly connects us all — our humanity.
With all this in mind, I would like to share the path that I am walking down and invite you to continue walking it with me.
I am walking a deliberate path. One that takes stillness, patience, courage and trust. And through this newsletter I will be exploring practical and philosophical ways to live today and remember tomorrow through mindful approaches to tech, life and business.
You and I are connected by our humanity and, truthfully, I am trying to figure out how to make the most of my precious time on this planet — just like you. I haven’t got it all figured out. I don’t know if anyone ever does. But, I do show up for the challenge and willingly walk alongside anyone else on this path. If that’s you, say hello! We don’t have to be strangers.
It is my desire to take what I have learned, and continue to learn, and share it with you to support you to create meaningful change in your life and to walk a deliberate path.
Thank you for reading.
Natalia
Finally, for those of you who’ve been a subscriber since the start of the year, you’ll know I’ve gone through a couple of iterations with this newsletter already. I’d like to acknowledge that and say thank you for still being here and thank you for being patient with me as I continue to align with the path I want to be walking.
Every week I explore practical and philosophical ways to live today and remember tomorrow through mindful approaches to tech, life and business. If that sounds like something you’d benefit from, I’d love for you to join my growing community of mindful humans.
